Overview

Brief

Our team has conducted a technology integration project for the Partnership for the Arts and Humanities, a non-profit organization established in 1998. Faced with the challenge of managing over 30 unrelated technology platforms, we delve deeper into the workflow, communication errors, and inefficiencies in donor management. Through in-depth interviews and observational research, we have identified overlapping functions, decentralized data systems, and a clear need to improve stakeholder engagement. Our research findings ultimately formed strategic recommendations, emphasizing software simplification, targeted participation, and enhanced communication protocols.

Affinity Diagram

As part of a collaborative consulting team, I contributed to the creation of a digital affinity diagram using Miro. This exercise was pivotal in synthesizing diverse qualitative insights from our client’s staff interviews. Through meticulous categorization and analysis, we were able to pinpoint crucial organizational challenges, leading to strategic recommendations for enhanced communication, optimized software utilization, and more engaged stakeholder relationships.

Reflection

This project sharpened my UX research skills and deepened my understanding of human-centered design, especially in the areas of client engagement and team collaboration.

Advanced my hands-on experience with qualitative research techniques, notably semi-structured interviews, and honed my data synthesis skills, such as creating detailed affinity diagrams.

The most profound lesson learned was the critical role emotional intelligence plays in team success, often outweighing sheer intellectual prowess.

I’m deeply thankful for the opportunity to work with the Partnership for the Arts & Humanities and for the growth it fostered within me and my team.
